Benevolence and compassion are themes woven throughout Scripture. James encourages us to visit orphans and widows in their distress (1:27). Paul instructs us to do good to all people while we have opportunity (Gal 6:10), and the writer of Hebrews reminds us to show hospitality to strangers (13:2). As we emulate the nature of God, it is ingrained in us as Christians to show kindness, perform acts of charity and do good to others.
The Manna Ministry was established as an outreach of our Benevolence Ministry with a focus of caring for our “Neighbors” who need food assistance. We have a Little Food Pantry located outside of our Activity Center that is open 24/7 and used daily by those picking up an item for a single meal, to those needing additional items to get by.
We also donate a box of food to families in need once a box at our Drive-Thru Food Distribution taking place on the second Monday of each month in our Activity Center parking lot.
With the holidays on the horizon, we have an opportunity to lay harvest aside in our pantry stock room to replenish for the upcoming months. If you can help, your donations of food or monetary gifts can provide food for our pantry. Food items can continue to be dropped off in our collection bins in the South Lobby, Children’s Lobby, and the Lodge Foyer. If you care to make a financial donation, please make donations to the church with a reference for “Manna Ministry" or "Little Food Pantry”.
We’re here for you.
